When Does JoJo Bizarre Adventures Get Good?
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has kept audiences entertained for 35 years and it’s earned its spot as one of the best anime series. Jojo is such a creative and unusual riff on typical shonen and action tropes where it establishes an endlessly unique voice and it’s as if “JoJo” is its own genre. Jojo has resonated so strongly and cultivated such a passionate fandom because it’s not afraid to take major risks and stray from the norm.
The series had over 120 million copies in circulation as of December 2021, making it one of the best-selling manga series in history, and it has spawned a media franchise including one-shot manga, light novels, and video games.
When does Jojo get good?
JoJo starts to get good in the Battle Tendency arc which is the second story arc of the Manga which starts in chapter 45 and in episode 10 in Anime. In this arc, we see some very good villains, a great Protagonist in Joseph, a great side character in Ceaser Zeppeli, on-point humor, great character designs, visual flair, good action scenes, and great usage of the power system in Hamon.
What is the problem with the first part?
The first arc of JoJo “The Phantom Blood arc” is regarded as the worst JoJo arc and pretty average at its best. Jonathan is found to be a boring protagonist, the plot is pretty straightforward, and it is essentially a cliche story. Dio was enjoyable in Part 3 but in this part, he was also the cliche tough evil guy who gained immense power. It also didn’t age well and doesn’t stand out as unique as other later parts.
The Series only gets better
Jojo only gets better after 1st part, we get to see part 2 which is amazing in itself but part 3 “Stardust Crusaders” offers great adventures, iconic villains, Stand Variety, and amazing and visually appealing fights. But Part 4 “Diamond Is Unbreakable” is considered one of the best anime arcs ever and it has a lot to offer without spoiling some of the notable things are its story.
Yoshikage Kira is simply one of the best villains in anime history. One of the key things that can make or break a series is the supporting cast, Diamond is Unbreakable excelling in this department.
