7. Buggy
Bounty : 15,000,000 (last known)
Devil Fruit: Chop Chop Fruit
Haki: None
Buggy is a current Yonko, the captain of the Buggy Pirates, and a former apprentice of the Roger Pirates. He became a Warlord of the seas after Marineford Saga and become a Yonko sometimes during the Wano arc.
Buggy is someone who rises to the top accidentally. He has a pretty useful devil fruit that could help him defend against Sword attacks which are quite common in the One Piece world. But overall he isn’t anywhere close to others on the list. He is a gag character that falls in the upward direction.
6. Blackbeard
Bounty : 2,247,600,000
Devil Fruit: Tremor-Tremor Fruit and Dark-Dark Fruit
Haki: Observational Haki, Armament Haki
Blackbeard is a Yonko, a former member of the Whitebeard Pirates and the leader of the Blackbeard Pirates, and is one of the strongest darkness users in anime. He has confirmed to know both Observational and Armament Haki and also has two of the strongest devil fruits.
Even before timeskip, his durability was immense as he took several hits from the likes of Whitebeard, Sengoku, etc, and still remained fairly unfazed. His control of the devil fruits would have just become stronger post timeskip and his crew even defeated the remnants of the Whitebeard Pirates which isn’t an easy thing.
Though bounty doesn’t directly equate to strength it can be used to approximately infer the level of strength and Blackbeard has significantly lesser bounty than other Yonkos. We haven’t seen him in action post timeskip so his current strength is unknown. He can be speculated to be even higher on this list when his time comes but for the moment we will put him in a conservative position till we see him in action.
5. Monkey D. Luffy
Bounty : 3,000,000,000
Devil Fruit: Gomu Gomu no Mi
Haki: Observational Haki, Armament Haki, and Conquerors Haki
Monkey D. Luffy is the protagonist of the series and the captain of the Strawhat Pirates. He is a current Yonko and also the strongest Supernova. Luffy’s growth of rate in the pirate world is only secondary to Blackbeard. Luffy currently has access to all three types of Haki including the Advanced form of Conquerors Haki and also Awakening which helped him defeat even Kaido. In addition to that, he can use Future Sight (Advanced form of Observation Haki) and Ryo (Advanced form of Armament Haki) which only a few can access.
Luffy fought Kaido alone and defeated him which is said to be the hardest thing ever. It is beyond doubt that current Luffy is one of the strongest in the series.
4. Big Mom
Bounty : 4,048,900,000
Devil Fruit: Soul Soul Fruit
Haki: Observational Haki, Armament Haki, and Conquerors Haki
Big Mom is a former Yonko, captain of the Big Mom Pirates, and the empress of the Tottoland. She has shown to be great in Observational Haki, Armament Haki, and Conquerors Haki and also has an overpowered devil fruit in Soul Devil fruit. She has shown to be a formidable character on the same level as Kaido as they fought for three days with no injuries.
She defeated Queen, a Yonko commander with ease. She is a natural-born destroyer and was capable of killing a giant as a child. The only time she got injured in the whole series is when she lost her mind during the Whole Cake Island Arc. Sometimes it is easy to underrate her physical strength as she can be seen thrown around and easily outwitted but her physical body is yet to be scratched by a person.
I rated her below because she wasn’t impressive in the Wano arc compared to Kaido.
3. Shanks
Bounty : 4,142,900,000
Devil Fruit: None
Haki: Observational Haki, Armament Haki, and Conquerors Haki
Shanks is a current Yonko and a former member of Roger Pirates. Shanks doesn’t have a devil fruit but has mastery in all three types of Haki. His duels with the strongest swordsman were known throughout the seas. His presence alone instilled fear among the Marines in the Marineford Arc.
Blackbeard explicitly stated that they aren’t yet ready to fight Shanks’s crew even when Blackbeard acquired the second devil fruit. Kaido puts him alongside the likes of Oden, Roger, Whitebeard, and Rocks during his encounter with Luffy. It is interesting that Shanks hasn’t been shown in action yet his implied strength is already great to put him in the top 3. Big Mom showing in Wano wasn’t the greatest and that made me put Shanks above her.
2. Kaido
Bounty : 4,611,100,000
Devil Fruit: Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu
Haki: Observational Haki, Armament Haki, and Conquerors Haki
Kaido is known as the Strongest creature, a former Yonko, and a former member of Rocks Pirates. Kaido has mastery over all types of Haki and has one of the strongest mythical devil fruits, Koi Fish which allows him to transform into a dragon.
During this Wano arc itself, he has faced the Scabbards who aren’t weak by any means. Later along with Big Mom, he faced Luffy, Zoro, Kid, Killer, and Law in a battle on the rooftop and only got a scar from Zoro and some solid punches from Luffy but still remained fairly unfazed yet. Killer literally stated that Kaido is the strongest Pirate and note Kid Pirates faced Shanks crew in New World.
He is the only character apart from Whitebeard to be termed the Strongest in the world. Kaido is said to be undefeatable one-on-one. Kaido is the epitome of strength and no other alive character in the series has as great of a portrayal of strength as him.
1. Whitebeard

Devil Fruit: Tremor Tremor Fruit
Haki: Observational Haki, Armament Haki, and Conquerors Haki
The strongest Yonko was without doubt Whitebeard, the captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, and a former member of Rocks Pirates. It was literally stated that he was the strongest man in his introduction and prime Whitebeard rivaled Roger as equals. He had mastery over all forms of Haki including the rarest form of Advanced Conquerors Haki. He also has one of the strongest devil fruit, Tremor fruit.
His power could be used to destroy the world and a weakened Whitebeard fought all the three admirals and later Blackbeard in Marineford. He still remained formidable till the end. During his prime, he could fight Roger as an equal for several days. It should be without doubt that he was the strongest Yonko based on every criterion.
